Review Fix Exclusive: Days to Come Talks Siren and 2019 Goals

Review Fix chats with Days to Come’s Justin Goodson (Vocals/Guitar) Brandon Rix (Guitar) and Jalen Hall (Drums), who discuss the band’s origin, goals and new single, Siren.

Review Fix: How did the project start?

Justin Goodson:The band officially formed in 2014. I met Brandon at a local music store one afternoon before a gig and we hit it off pretty quickly. Jalen joined us in early 2018. We’ve had a few lineup changes over the years but we feel pretty confident in the team we currently have.

Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?

Goodson: Typically, Brandon and I will get together with a few acoustic guitars and work out the skeleton of the song. I’ll either have lyrics already written or will write some to go with the music. Sometimes they come really quickly and other times they’ll take weeks to finish.

Review Fix: What’s your standout song? How was it written?

Brandon Rix: Our brand new single Siren (out Friday, January 25th). We’re continually developing and expanding on what the Days To Come “sound” is and, when we were working on Siren, everything clicked. We knew that the feel of Siren was what we were after and what we would continue to chase in future songs.

I came up with initial intro/chorus riff and Justin layered the vocal melodies over it. It came together pretty quickly.

Review Fix: What are your goals for 2019?

Jalen Hall: To tour as much as possible.

Review Fix: How do you want your music to affect people?

Hall: I want the listener to understand that each of our songs can be interpreted differently and that the same song can help through several emotions.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Goodson: We’re excited to support our new single, Siren, as well as our first music video. We recently partnered with management company Crown Artist Development & indie label From The Depths Entertainment and we’re so excited for 2019. This year is gonna be a big year for us and we can’t wait to share it with you.
