WWE NXT UK Takeover Cardiff Results: Walter Reigns Supreme

After months of waiting the time has finally come. Will Walter’s reign of terror finally come to an end at the hands of the Big Strong Boi? NXT UK’s second TakeOver special looks to exceed the first in every way imaginable. One thing is certain though, it’s going to be a night to remember.

Matches:

Noam Dar vs. Travis Banks: Banks and Dar both brought their A-game, and it was anyone’s guess as to who would come out on top. In the end, the Scottish Supernova rocked the Kiwi Buzzsaw with a Nova Roller for the win in Cardiff.

Ilja Dragunov vs. Cesaro:  This match was a pleasant surprise that turned into a war. Dragunov took the fight to Cesaro instantly, and what a fight it was. Dragunov went for Torpedo Moscow to seal the deal, but the Swede caught him with a Pop-Up European Uppercut into an emphatic Neutralizer, securing himself the victory.

NXT UK Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match: “Flash” Morgan Webster and Mark Andrews vs. Gallus: Mark Coffey and Wolfgang vs. the NXT UK Tag Team Champions: Grizzled Young Veterans: Zack Gibson and James Drake: Webster and Andrews stood tall in Cardiff after an epic bout that produced one of those perfect babyface moments akin to Sami Zayn’s NXT Championship win at TakeOver: R Evolution.

Last Man Standing Match: Joe Coffey vs. “Bomber” Dave Mastiff: Coffey and Bomber clashed all over the venue. It was a grueling fight between these two hosses, but the Iron King and his insane ingenuity proved fruitful. As both men were about to answer the count of ten, Coffey kicked a stool out from under Mastiff, knocking him back to the ground and securing himself the win.

NXT UK Women’s Championship Match: Kay Lee Ray vs. the NXT UK Women’s Champion: Toni Storm:  Kay Lee Ray played her mind games and played Storm like a fiddle. A Gory Bomb put the now-former champ down for three, marking the end of Toni time.

United Kingdom Championship Match: Tyler Bate vs. the United Kingdom Champion: Walter: Tyler Bate has cemented his legacy as the de-facto babyface of the UK brand. In a forty-plus minute marathon, the inaugural United Kingdom Champion reminded the world how good he is at getting a crowd behind him. However, it was in a losing effort. Walter retained his title with a Clothesline that damn near took Bate’s head off.
