AEW Dark Results: A Drag

It’s great that AEW wants to give the fans so much content, but twelve matches with no break and no serious consequences dragged on for nearly two hours. However as usual, there was some excellent wrestling sprinkled into the mix.

Matches:

The Initiative: Brandon Cutler and “The Librarian” Peter Avalon w/ “The Librarian” Leva Bates vs. FTR: Dax Hardwood and Cash Wheeler: Avalon and Cutler went another week winless thanks to a Spike Piledriver now dubbed the Mindbreaker.

Michael Nakazawa and Pineapple Pete vs. “The Bad Boy” Joey Janela and “The Concrete Rose” Sonny Kiss: Once again, Nakazawa’s deadly man thong was used against him, this time with Pete on the receiving end, allowing Kiss to hit the Split Leg Drop for the win.

Abadon vs. Skyler Moore: Abadon set up a Gory Bomb but locked Moore’s chin and sat out to score a big singles win.

“The Captain” Shawn Dean and Will Hobbs vs. The Dark Order: Stu Grayson and Evil Uno w/ Dark Order: Dark Order scored the win with Fatality to gain momentum heading into their Tag Team Title Match on Dynamite tomorrow night.

Corey Hollis vs. Scorpio Sky: Hollis got his licks in but Sky continued his roll with the snappy TKO for the pinfall victory.

Penelope Ford w/ “Superbad” Kip Sabian vs. Kenzie Paige: Ford decided a Handspring Cutter wasn’t enough punishment and hit the Bridging Fisherman’s Suplex for good measure and the win.

Aaron Solow vs. Wardlow: Solow didn’t stand a chance. Wardlow brutalized him and ended the match with the End of the Night second rope falling knee strike to KO his opponent.

Best Friends: Trent and Chuck Taylor vs. Dark Order: John Silver and Alex Reynolds w/ Dark Order: Silver fired up and hit a few mean strikes but Taylor retaliated with the Awful Waffle to score the win and got out of dodge before the rest of Dark Order could jump them.

Frankie Thomas vs. “The Murderhawk Monster” Lance Archer w/ Jake “The Snake” Roberts: Archer reminded the world how deadly he is with a thunderous Chokeslam and the Claw head slams for the easy victory.

Serpentico vs. “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy: Cassidy surprised Serpentico with the Leg-Capture Roll Up for the pinfall decision.

Fuego Del Sol vs. Sammy Guevara: Guevara hit the GTH for a big win in his first match back since his suspension.

SCU: Frankie Kazarian and “The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels vs. Santana and Ortiz vs. Private Party: Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy: Ortiz caught Quen in the family jewels while the ref wasn’t looking to steal the win.
