NXT Coverage: Still Finding Its Ground

NXT 2.0 continues to find its footing as it tried to remain true to its roots with fun segments thanks to Johnny Gargano and Dexter Lumis and solid matches between Roderick Strong and Grayson Waller, as well as a main event featuring two of the top females in the industry today. However, in-between that, there were green matches and lacking promo. Simply put, the show’s still a work in progress. That doesn’t mean it isn’t enjoyable, you just have to take it with a grain of salt at times.

Matches:

No Disqualification: B-Fab w/ Hit Row: Isaiah “Swerve” Scott, Top Dolla and Ashante Thee Adonis vs. Elektra Lopez w/ Legado del Fantasma: Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza: Lopez made an example of B-Fab, finishing her off with a Powerbomb.

Xyon Quinn vs. Oney Lorcan: Quinn got the surprising win with the Running Forearm.

NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Zoey Stark and Io Shirai vs. Toxic Attraction: Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne: The best match of the night at that point, by far. Shirai got the win with the Moonsault.

Boa vs. Andre Chase: Boa won with the Mist and reverse DDT.

NXT Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong vs. Grayson Waller: Waller held his own, but Strong got the win with the Running Knee.

Kyle O’Reilly vs. Ridge Holland w/Pete Dunne: O’Reilly Rolled Up Holland won ran into Dunne. After the match, O’Reilly was the victim of his foes before Von Wagner made the save.

NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez vs. Franky Monet: Monet did everything but win as she hit her Double Stomp but Gonzalez battled through and won with her signature Powerbomb.
