Review Fix Exclusive: John Livingstone Talks Angels Dancin’ on the Head of a Pin

Review Fix chats with singer/songwriter John Livingstone, who discusses his new single, “Angels Dancin’ on the Head of a Pin” and so much more.

Review Fix: What is the SPIRITUAL WRINGER and how did it change you forever?

John Livingstone: There are aligned moments in one’s experience when the Cosmic coal chute of life dumps everything on you at such an intense level that it forces you into a complete spiritual realignment of yourself.  Everything you thought was true about yourself is rent asunder.  It resulted in the creation of a new identity Johnson Livingstone, an elevated persona of my soul.

Review Fix: Angels Dancin’ on the Head of a Pin is so hard to describe in terms of genre. I love it. It’s like everything haha. How did this song come together?

Livingstone: I was working with a spiritual advisor, she programmed a mantra into my consciousness, write genre less music, write genre less music, write genre less music  It worked.  We all relate everything in our current experience to what we have previously known, Oh that song sounds like this artist or that band, it’s a challenge to hear something mysteriously different and not categorize it – something that stands apart on its own.  If I had to label it I would call it Resurrection Rock

Review Fix: Because your sound is so diverse, who do you think will enjoy your work the most?

Livingstone: My music is energetically based, its infused and resonates with a certain frequency depending upon the subject matter of the song.  Those individuals operating at or seeking that frequency will find it.

Review Fix: Can I call you a songwriter’s songwriter? I am. How does that make you feel?

Livingstone: This brings me great joy, I am grateful for the compliment.

Review Fix: How are your strengths different from other performers?

Livingstone: I don’t write a song for an outcome.  I don’t sit down and say I’m going to try to write something that is going to be really popular.  There are amazing professional songwriters here in Nashville who know how to craft a top 40 hit.  The whole industry is set up here to do that.  I write the music in a co-creative process with the Universe and just let it evolve into whatever it is suppose to be.  It’s a creation of joy and love.e.  It’s a creation of joy and love.

Review Fix: What’s Next? your biggest goals for ’22?

Livingstone: Major EP Coming out entitled I’m Johnson Livingstone late spring early summer.
