MLB PITCHER RANDY JOHNSON PHOTOGRAPHS MEGADETH IN PHOENIX, AZ

Former Major League Baseball starting pitcher Randy Johnson traded in his baseball glove for a camera at Megadeth’s show at the Dodge Theatre in Phoenix, AZ last Friday night (August 27).  Johnson–one of the most dominant pitchers of his generation–was a special guest of the multiplatinum Megadeth–who’ve sold over 20 million albums worldwide and are credited as one of the most influential metal bands–at the “American Carnage” show, which also featured Slayer and Testament.  Johnson is an avid metal fan and concert-goer with a passion for photographing his favorite artists.

Over a 22-year career, Randy Johnson played for six MLB teams including the Montreal Expos, Seattle Mariners, Houston Astros, Arizona Diamondbacks, New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants. Johnson is a World Series Champion and World Series MVP, 10-time All-Star, 5-time Cy Young Award winner, and one of MLB’s 10 best left-handed starting pitchers of all time.

Since rising to international fame in the 1980s, Megadeth has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, including six consecutive platinum albums, with eight consecutive Grammy nominations for Best Metal Performance.  Lead vocalist/guitarist Dave Mustaine’s recently-released book MUSTAINE: A Heavy Metal Memoir debuted at #15 on the New York Times best seller list in the Hardcover Nonfiction category.  Megadeth will release the Rust In Peace Live Blu-ray, DVD and CD–captured on the final night of Megadeth’s historic Rust In Peace 20th anniversary tour at the legendary Hollywood Palladium–September 7 via Shout! Factory.
