Eminem and Rihanna Turn Life Experience Into Must-See Video

Eminem has always been a much talked about and well-deservedly hyped rapper when it comes to his music videos. His collaboration with Dido for the song “Stan” turned out a powerful video that has not been done in quite the same way before or since. Several years later from his latest album Recovery, Eminem once again releases a video that stirs your consciousness and will make you reevaluate why you get involved in the relationships you do.

With the chorus sung by Rihanna, Eminem lyrically raps a tale of domestic violence and why two destructive people are constantly drawn to one another. Even before the video, “Love the Way You Lie” has been on billboard charts in both the U.K. and the United States. It has also been one of the most downloaded songs in recent weeks. Now with the release of the video the song has become increasingly popular.

Starring Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan (Lost) the video narrates a violent relationship where sometimes the battles are instigated by Fox at other times by Monaghan. What makes this video powerful besides the performances are the well-rapped lyrics by Eminem. In case you ever wondered why would a woman go back to a man who beats on her just take a look at the scene that goes along with the words: “You ever love somebody so much you can barely breathe/When you’re with them you meet and neither one of you even know what hit ‘em// You swore you’ve never hit ‘em/Never do nothing to hurt ‘em/Now you’re in each other’s face/ Spewing venom.” In the meantime the volatile relationship is punctuated by Rihanna’s refrain to the point where both artists are performing in front of a burning house as we also watch both Fox and Monaghan literally burn.

Love can hurt and make you bleed and in the case of Eminem and Rihanna bring drama and burn a spotlight on what otherwise would be a private matter. Because of their experiences with domestic violence from separate sides of the spectrum they were the only ones who could pull this song off without it looking like a PSA. More than that it reminds Eminem’s fans that his time away from the music game was well worth the wait.
