ELAN ATIAS TO PERFORM AT SPORTS ILLUSTRATED SWIMSUIT BEAUTIES & BEATS MUSIC FESTIVAL IN LAS VEGAS

Former Wailers Singer Solo Album “We Are” Out Now

LOS ANGELES, CA – Plucked out of obscurity at 19 years old to fill the hallowed shoes of beloved genius Bob Marley, reggae’s “young lion” Elan Atias, was the frontman for legendary band The Wailers for nearly a decade. With his solo album We Are, out now, Elan builds upon his devotion to Marley by blending pop, soul and reggae into a beautiful, upbeat audible treat.

We Are highlights Elan’s signature vocals paired with uplifting melodies and thoughtful lyrics. The record’s message is rooted in bringing people together through music via the theme of One Love. Elan explains, “We Are is raw singer-songwriter, roots, happy, fun, pop music with a reggae twist. I hope that listening to the album helps people cut through the daily clutter that prevents us all from relating to each other and giving unconditional love.”

The album’s first single “Step Into The Sunshine” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqBFkGx9N2A) caught the attention of Sports Illustrated, who will be featuring Elan as one of 17 artists in its first ever showcase of emerging artists in the annual Swimsuit issue on stands, on www.SI.com/Swimsuit, and across all Tablet editions on February 14th. To celebrate the synergy between music and the magazine, the inaugural Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Beauties & Beats Music Festival two-day event will be held February 15th & 16th in Las Vegas. Free and open to the 21+ public, catch Elan Atias’ on February 15th @8pm in the Castellana Room at the Cosmopolitan Hotel. (Swimsuit-clad models will be grooving side-stage).

MJ Day, Senior Editor of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit says, “We’re excited to shine the enormous spotlight of Swimsuit on to these 17 emerging artists, the same way we have helped to illuminate the stars of our models for nearly 50 years. Music plays such an important role in setting the mood for Swimsuit shoots. It can take the tone from fun to sultry; it’s amazing how vital music is to the editorial process.”

In addition to The Wailers, Elan has collaborated with Carlos Santana, Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams, Kenny Chesney, Matisyahu, the Dave Matthews Band and more. Recently featured by LA’s 102.7 KIIS FM and Star 98.7 FM, Elan is currently The Artist of The Month at Daphne’s California Greek Restaurant: http://www.daphnes.biz/music and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf ‘s in-store TV station will soon play his music in 165 locations reaching over 3 million people.
