Review Fix Exclusive IndieCade East 2014 Coverage: A Sunday Recap

IndieCade, one of the fastest growing video game conventions was in New York this weekend at The Museum of the Moving Image. If you couldn’t make it, don’t fret, we’ve got you covered.

Here’s our Sunday recap:

Just like similar festivals, the last day of IndieCade East was arguably the weakest. Even still, with a fresh batch of keynotes and demos, The Museum of the Moving Image was filled with excitement.

Once again, the morning kicked off with a keynote. This time it was “Winter is Coming and Other Stuff They Tell Free to Play Indie Devs,” where CEO of PuzzleSocial Jeb Balise, Co-founder of SpinPunch.com Ian Tien, Excecutive Producer at Disruptor Beam Rich Gallup and Partner Manager for Indie Game Developers at Facebook AJ Glasser discussed “what makes a winning game.”

Follow-up keynotes included “Code Liberation Foundation Workshop,” “Game Design Workshop,” “I’m a Transsexual Witch Poet Gamcrafter and You Can Too,” etc.

Many of the games featured today were previously mentioned in our Saturday recap and the “Indie Essentials: 25 Must-Play Video Games” exhibition remained untouched. The biggest change was the eSports section which, like we mentioned yesterday, featured an entirely new lineup.

The eSports games available for hands-on today were “Gunsport,” “Anodyne 100% Speedrun” and “Videoball,” with a “Nidhogg” tournament to finish things off.
