WWE RAW Coverage: Owens Getting’ Over

With a lack of real excitement, this week’s RAW did little to put the upcoming Elimination Chamber event in any type of positive light, away from the announcement of a Kevin Owens/John Cena match at the event.

Scary that RAW did a better job of setting up the next NXT event than taking care of its own business.

While Lana’s situation with Rusev was awesome and seeing Dean Ambrose back in the WWE World Title scene was worthwhile, the rest of the show was just filler.

Matches:

Sheamus vs. Ryback: These guys went back and forth in a match that took longer than it should, but after an Eye Rake in the corner, Sheamus nailed Ryback with the Brogue Kick for the win. Adrian Neville vs. Wade Barrett: Bo Dallas beat on Neville’s leg before the match began and Barrett continued right when Dallas left off. Unable to hit his high-flying moves, Neville fought hard, but Barrett got the win with the Bullhammer Elbow. After the match, Dallas continued to beat on Neville.

Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt: A solid back and forth with plenty of counters until Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble hit the ring, causing interference that allowed Wyatt to hit the Sister Abigail for the win.

WWE Tag Team Champions Big E. Langston and Kofi Kingston vs. Antonio Cesaro and Tyson Kidd w/Natalya Neidhart: The match got thrown out after The New Day couldn’t follow the rules and all of a sudden, there were a half-dozen teams (Los Matadores, The New Day, Kidd and Cesaro, The Lucha Dragons, the Prime Time Players and The Ascension) in the ring beating the crap out of each other.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Stardust: A quick match that saw Ziggler reverse the Cross Rhodes into the Zig-Zag for the win. After the match, Lana hit the ring and let Ziggler know her services are available.

Luke Harper and Erick Rowan vs. Zack Ryder and Fandango: Harper and Rowan ravaged the makeshift team, hitting The Superkick and Full Nelson Slam finisher.

Divas Champion Nikki Bella vs. Naomi w/Tamina: The match got thrown out after Tamina hit Bella with the Super Kick. After the match, Paige hit the ring and beat on everyone and hit Bella with the Ram-Page.
