Review Fix Exclusive: Mandy Jiroux Talks Upcoming EP and More

Review Fix chats with singer and dancer Mandy Jiroux, who discusses her YouTube show with Miley Cyrus, as well as her music career and goals for the future.

About Mandy Jiroux:

Mandy got her start by choreographing and dancing behind her best friend Miley Cyrus, and the partnership eventually led to the launch of the groundbreaking YouTube channel, “The Miley & Mandy Show.”  An immediate sensation, the channel helped solidify the standard vlogging format on YouTube. Their friendly dance competitions led to online battles between their M&M Cru and “Step Up!” director Jon Chu and Adam Sevani’s ACDC dance troupe, creating “The Biggest Online Dance Battle,” always with a who’s who of special guests.

Review Fix: How hard is it to juggle all of your responsibilities?

Mandy Jiroux: I don’t find it hard because I truly live for what I do.  I love to be able to wake up everyday and do what I love.  I never take it for granted.

Review Fix: If you had to pick one thing to focus on, what would it be?

Jiroux: I would focus on music.  With music, I can also include all of my other passions including dancing, choreographing and performing.

Review Fix: Who inspires you as a vocalist?

Jiroux: Elie Goulding, Tove Lo, Bebe Rexha, Rihanna, Ariana Grande

Review Fix: How important is your work on YouTube to you?

Jiroux: It’s really important to me. I have so much fun doing it and that’s what it’s mostly about.  It doesn’t even feel like work.

Review Fix: How does your friendship with Miley Cyrus affect your music?

Jiroux: Miley is the one who inspired me to start singing, so I can’t thank her enough for that.

Review Fix: What are your goals musically?

Jiroux: I hope that when people hear my music, they love it and are inspired by it. I also want to be heard worldwide on every radio station.  Touring and performing my music around the world would come shortly after that.

Review Fix: When can we expect an album or EP from you?

Jiroux: I’ll be releasing my next single at the top of the year and another single or an EP will follow that.  I have a few great features coming out earlier in the year, as well.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Jiroux: I have the next few months lined up with rehearsals, different shoots, and studio time. I’m traveling quite a bit also. My next trip is to Amsterdam to finish up my songs with producers out there.
