205 Live Coverage: Aries New #1 Contender

Austin Aries’ win to become the new #1 contender for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship changes the entire dynamic of the show. The next few weeks are going to be fun.

Matches:

Mustafa Ali vs. Drew Gulak: Ali won with the Inverted 450 Splash, but Gulak put on a show in terms of technical ability. After the defeat, Gulak vented to the crowd and said that 205 Live needs to change.

Noam Dar and Ariya Daivari w/Alicia Fox vs. Rich Swann and Jack Gallagher: Some decent back and forth but Dar won with the Running Drop Kick.

Fatal Five-Way Elimination for Cruiserweight Title Shot at Wrestlemania: TJ Perkins vs. Tony Nese vs. Akira Tozawa vs. Austin Aries vs. Brian Kendrick: Perkins got the fist elimination with an Armbar on Nese and Kendrick followed with a Sliced Bread #2 to beat Tozawa. Kendrick then jumped on top of Aries, who was pinning Perkins to eliminate him. Aries then finished off Kendrick with the Roaring Elbow to get his shot at Neville at Wrestlemania.
