Review Fix EIC Patrick Hickey Jr. addresses the big biggest five needs for TNA’s Impact tonight.
5- Smarter camera work: Too many times last week did the camera cut out in the middle of the action to unexpected places, including an unsuspecting Eric Bischoff. The same thing goes for the show ending before Jeff Hardy hit a swanton bomb on AJ Styles. If problems like this persist, it’ll be too easy to write off TNA as a number two promotion.
4- Defend every title: Until TNA establishes itself as the number one promotion [if it ever does] every show has to be equivalent to a Pay Per View; all the stars need to come out and play. That means every title should be defended, even if the matches aren’t 25-minute blockbusters. Raw has lost fans over the years due to a lack of wrestling on the show and with the talent base TNA has, they have to take advantage of this.
3- Get Samoa Joe, Hernandez and Matt Morgan on the show: These guys are good wrestlers and have solid fanbases. Get them in the mix.
2- More X-Division matches: It was discussed briefly last week, with the keyword, being “discussed.†Simply put, no one wants to hear three people with limited microphone skills the likes of Doug Williams, Chris Daniels and Frank Kazarian talk for eight minutes. Get the action going already.
1- More surprises: In order for TNA to get to where it needs to be, they need to be more spontaneous. They need to continue to acquire new stars or revamp the ones that they have, thus making the show as fast-paced and entertaining as possible. Bringing in Rob Van Dam is a good step in that direction.
