‘Summer Thing’ by Troy Olsen- Free I-Tunes Single of the Week

Born in Tucson, Arizona, Troy Olsen is an American country music singer-songwriter that is currently signed to EMI Nashville. He is popularly known for assisting Blake Shelton and Tim McGraw in writing two famous songs, “I’ll Just Hold On” and “Ghost Town Train.” Both in which are tracks that come off of the album “Southern Voice.”

Starting his career in 2009, Olsen has already released a self-titled EP on May 11, 2010.

Even though he has not yet produced a full-length album, his first debut single, “Summer Thing,” was available for country music fans all over the world in April of 2010.

Such a song came out at such an appropriate time, seeing that summer was just around the corner.

Throughout the tune, Olsen expresses natural emotions of an unforgettable summer experience. The lyrics that he uses are extremely detailed and true, making it easy for a first time listener to envision these descriptions in their head.

The compassion and soulfulness of Olsen’s voice is very similar to that of George Strait.

Along with the described thoughts of warm weather, pretty girls, drinking problems away and giving thanks to life, the strumming of Olsen’s acoustic guitar allows the entire scenario to be calm and influential.

It might be rare to visualize a bunch of teenagers joining together and playing Olsen’s style of music, but when it involves a track that can be related to, “Summer Thing” is absolutely suitable.

In general, Olsen’s debut single is an outstanding contribute to the current country scene and is certainly something to listen to during a crazy summer night that in hopes, will be remembered forever.
