Nonchalantly using the mother of God’s name as a band title, The VirginMarys is a Rock/Blues/Psychadelia group that was formed in Macclesfield, United Kingdom. With the bold mix of Led Zeppelin, Velvet Revolver, The White Stripes and Kings of Leon, they can definitely be considered one of the freshest new acts to such a genre.
Though they were recently created in early 2009, the trio, Ally Dickaty (vocalist and guitarist), Matt Rose (vocalist and bassist) and Danny Dolan (drummer) were able to mold together a solid and effective six-track EP. They decided to call it “Cast The First Stone.”
Given the opportunity to perform at astounding venues such as, the Manchester Club Academy and having the famous Slash from Guns N’ Roses as a supportive fan, it’s clear that The Virginmarys are making some serious progress within the music industry.
Their hit single off of their EP, “Bang Bang Bang,” truly demonstrates an exclusive sound that takes rock music to an entire new level.
Dickaty and Rose donate an electric charge of powerful vocals that contain simple lyrics. The insane guitar and bass riffs that follow automatically provide listeners with an outbreak of energy.
In addition, Dolan accommodates plenty of crashing cymbals and outrageous drum beats that easily set off a booming sense of style.
Though The Virginmarys might come off as “holy,” “Bang Bang Bang” flaunts their wild side, something all rock and roll lovers should take into consideration.
The spirit and technique they put into their music is simply raging with talent, the type of style that should, at least once, be given a chance.
