CHICAGO, IL – On August 24th, accomplished singer Sarah VonderHaar spreads her songwriting wings once again with a new EP entitled P.D.L, the follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2008 debut Are You Listening Now?
On this new four-song digital release, VonderHaar showcases four distinct songwriting styles; from the sultry vampy swing of “Howling At the Moon†to the candy-coated Colbie Caillat choruses of “All Mine†to the plaintive emotional immediacy of the title track “Pretty Damn Lucky†to the finger-snapping piano-pop of “What I’m Feeling About You,†which effortlessly blends freeform phrasing and lyrical introspection akin to repertoire from Ben Folds and Regina Spektor.
With TV Guide asserting that Sarah VonderHaar is “on the verge of pop-rock stardom,†major companies and sponsors have also taken note of Sarah’s captivating voice, beautiful looks and upbeat personality. VonderHaar has attracted endorsements from the likes of Fender Guitars and Sennheiser, while her songs have been chosen as musical backdrops for both Jockey and Chevrolet commercials.  Sarah was also included in a Go-Gurt Yogurt campaign, and in a national advertising campaign with Mead Notebooks, which rolled out to Target stores in June.
While P.D.L. represents yet another step towards musical superstardom, it’s just one facet of a non-stop whirlwind of activity over the past few years for the gregarious 23-year old.  Still recognized from her participation on season eight of America’s Next Top Model, Sarah continues to model part time for Elite Chicago (where she started when she was 16).  Sarah also devotes time to speak to groups at local schools to encourage girls to follow their dreams. As this experience is especially rewarding for her, she will soon bolster her burgeoning status as a role model by launching a Livestream channel to self-broadcast her goodwill message to continue to engage and encourage young lives around the world.
Striking the right balance between her multi-talented ambitions is a delicate process that always leads her back to her first love – writing music and performing her songs live. To that end, Sarah will celebrate the release of P.D.L. with a special all ages show (presented by Girl360) at Schuba’s in Chicago on Thursday September 2. Leading up to the gig will be an exclusive ‘Going Viral’ web feature on the local KISSFM radio station web site at http://www.kiss1035.com.

About Girl360:
Here’s what we know for sure: Behind every great woman is a great girl, one who often discovered her own “superpowers” after encountering a powerful female role model. Our mission at Girl360 is to make encounters like this possible by bringing the stories of histories and today’s most amazing women to the attention of the next generation of tween girls (9 – 12). We’re taking a fresh look at what some of the world’s fiercest women and girls have done or are doing, discovering the back-stories behind our favorite boundary-pushers. We want to know who they are, how they did it and – newsflash! — what they were like when they, too, were tweens. http://www.girl360.net
