Based on the best-selling Swedish novel and cult film “Let The Right One In” by John Ajvide Lindqvist, “Let Me In,” may be the film to turn non-fans into new found bloodsuckers.
Directed by Cloverfield’s Matt Reeves, Let Me in is very different from mainstream vampire flicks. There’s no sexy teenagers or long-haired Brad Pitts. Actually, the main characters and predators are children or are they?
Like the Offspring song, these kids aren’t alright.
Take that Edward and Jacob.
Deep and provocative, the film, if anything like the original, will be as shocking as it is intelligent.
The film stars youngsters Chloë Grace Moretz and Kodi Smit-McPhee, and recognizable faces such as Oscar nominee Richard Jenkins and Cara Buono from “The Sopranos.” It also marks the return of legendary British horror brand Hammer Films- the first movie to come out from the studio in over 30 years.
Have no idea what Hammer Films has done over the years?
How about cult classics such as “When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth” and “Dracula,” starring Peter Cushing.
With a studio like this at the helm of the film, you can bet this film is going to be one thing: scary.
“Let Me In” is scheduled for an October 1st release and is rated R.
