Even the high octane energetic melody in the beginning of Bloodbuzz Ohio’s “The National†could not save this track from its pedestrian lyrics. For a while its heavy, melodic drum beat tricks you into believing that you’re listening to some profound thoughts but as the song progresses you realize that the only interesting lyrical lick is “I was carried to Ohio in a swarm of bees.†As you continue listening to the song though, it becomes morose and the drumming takes on a macabre tone which makes Ohio sound foreboding at best. While it’s not exactly for everyone, if you’re looking for some solid Halloween music or if you’re having a “moment,†then perhaps “The National†may be the song for you.
