Formed in Orange County, Florida in 2000, Mêlée is an American Alternative rock music group that consists of four members; Chris Cron (vocals, keyboard, guitar), Ricky Sans (guitar, vocals), Ryan Malloy (bass, vocals) and Derek Lee (drums).
Jumping from Warner Bros., Sire, Sub City and Hopeless record labels and being associated with Suburban Legends, in total, they have released three full length albums.
Their latest one being “The Masquerade,” which was issued in stores on August 18, 2010.
‘The Ballad of You and I’ has definitely got to be considered the best track off of the entire CD.
The verses of this song charmingly amplify the catchy melody of the chorus. This particular tune carries an aura of an obvious and understandable ballad, seeing as why Mêlée titled it the way that they did.
Cron, Sans, Malloy and Lee manage to regenerate this high sense of emotion while playing each of their parts. In a nut shell, their style is a solid mix of both Coldplay and U2.
The lyrical portion that Cron offers is astounding, donating lots of originality and delicacy.
It’s great to see that this band isn’t afraid to bring some 80s flavor and electronic sounds to the current music scene.
Overall, ‘The Ballad of You and I’ is a beautiful song that provides meaningful contribution and a huge taste of passion. From vocals to instrumentals, the energy that Mêlée concocts is enough for listeners to want to constantly hear such a song on the radio.
