Experience Don’t Mean a Thing on ‘Tough Enough’

Last week’s loser was no surprise, but when Matt Cross, the nine-year veteran got sent home, you can bet some jaws dropped. While not in the least bit charismatic, Cross was one of the most talented workers in the competition. To see him clench on to his Tough Enough title as host Stone Cold Steve Austin ripped it out of his hands was one of the most memorable moments of the show thus far.

While last week the competitions were more basic, with contestants running the ring ropes, this week things got turned up a notch. If being hunted down by a guard dog wasn’t enough, contestants this week had to survive an avalanche attack from trainer Bill DeMott, and afterward had to take five high angle body slams.

If it wasn’t apparent now that the trainers are serious, then Cross’ departure has made it crystal clear.

However, there appears to be blatant signs of favoritism and hatred by the shows trainers, which will make it even harder to know who will be the next to leave the show. For example, Trish Stratus has taken a huge liking to current Miss America Rima Fakih and has basically given her a pass for being late to training. After cheating the week before, wearing a pad on her butt during the ring rope exercise, how much longer can she last?

On the other hand, Ryan, aka skid marks, has passed every test, albeit with the least amount of prowess and with an added level of goofiness, but is still being picked on by DeMott and Booker T. At this point, it feels like the kid can’t do anything right. He also seems to be incredibly emotionally soft and is constantly picked on by the other men in the house. When will he be sent home?

Questions still remain as to if Eric is in good enough shape to make it through the competition or if Michelle has the heart. Luke has impressed both weeks, but can he continue to? With plenty of time to go, this competition is still ready for the taking. As a result, it’s wildly entertaining.
