New York, NY – April 21, 2011 – The program for the TromaDance Film Festival (April 22-23 at the Showroom Theater, Asbury Park, NJ) is now available on the TromaDance website for download! The 12th Annual TromaDance Film Festival will feature the finest, strangest, and most fantastic movies from all over the world, including the east-coast premiere of Kidnapped (courtesy of IFC Films), The Taint, All About Evil, the short films of Bill Plympton, and more! Tromadance will also a feature a panel on how to sell your film in a post-digital age, with special guest panelists Bill Plympton (Oscar nominated animator), John Goras (Chirpy), Michael Hein (founder of the New York Horror Film Fest), Michael Gingold (managing editor of Fangoria Magazine), Pat Kaufman (New York Film Commissioner), and TromaDance Founder Lloyd Kaufman acting as moderator.
The TromaDance Film Festival opens on Friday, April 22 at 6PM at the Showroom Theater (708 Cookman Avenue, Asbury Park, NJ 07712) and on Saturday, April 23 at 11AM, with after parties at The Brickwall Tavern (522 Cookman Ave, Asbury Park, NJ 07712), and Asbury Lanes (209 4th Avenue, Asbury Park, NJ 07712) with live music. TromaDance is the first film festival wholeheartedly devoted to filmmakers and fans. Unlike every other film festival, TromaDance does not charge filmmakers to submit their films. Entrance to all screenings is free and
open to the public. Also, there are no VIP reservations or preferential treatment regarding films, panels, or parties of any kind given. The organizers of TromaDance believe films are meant to be seen, especially when it comes to new filmmakers. Art – in all its forms – is for the people! Tromadance was created in 1999 by Troma President and Creator of the Toxic Avenger, Lloyd Kaufman, based on an idea from SouthPark creator Trey Parker.
