With five contestants left at the start of the show, WWE’s “Tough Enough†continued to entertain this week.
Christina Crawford was back after suffering an ankle sprain last week and was on the bubble throughout the show. Unable to compete in the ring, she was unable to deliver the goods in the few opportunities she said. As a result, she was sent home.
In another shocking twist, Stone Cold sent A.J Kirsch home, which leaves only three competitors left.
Above everything else, Luke Robinson and Andy Leavine proved in this episode that as far as their in-ring ability is concerned, they are a step above the rest of the competition. Able to perform more than just basic moves in the ring, these two are the least green of the group.
They were so good that the brazen and tough Bill DeMott gave them both a hug.
However, all of them, except Kirsch [who ironically is one of the greenest competitors left] are completely void of charisma and nearly put DeMott to sleep.
It wasn’t enough to keep him in the competition though.
While some of them had their moments, none, aside from Kirsch were able to deliver in the least. That being said, even Kirsch had problems during the tour segment and is a far ways away from delivering the types of promos that will be expected in the WWE. All in all, watching them cut promos, for the most part, was giggle-inducing. This is not only a bad thing for the rest of the competition, but makes you wonder if these guys could cut it in the WWE.
It helped that The Rock was on the show this week doing his best help and critique this segment. Through this, “Tough Enough†has made up for the fact that Booker T hasn’t been on the show nearly as much as he was expected to be. To have The Rock speak his mind and help these kids out was not only good for them, but good for the show as well. The Rock is a guy that fans love and the more he’s on WWE programming, the better.
The same thing goes for Stone Cold, who kept the audience in suspense throughout the last five minutes of the show and helped make it one of the best of the season.
Because of that, the final few episodes look primed to be some of the best TV the series has ever produced.
