The wolfpack are back in follow up hit sequel “The Hangover Part 2,”and this time their experience gets even stranger.
The last time we saw Phil, Stu, Alan and Doug, they experienced one of the most wild and dangerous bachelor parties in Vegas history. Now that’s saying something. While their location changes when they hit up Thailand for Stu’s wedding, the adventure gets even wackier. After they share one last beer before his big day, Stu, Alan, and Phil wake up with no recollection of what happened the night before.
Sure, it’s the same old story, but it’s just as fun.
When Phil, Stu, and Alan wake up after experience a wild and crazy night, they don’t remember a thing, and notice a monkey in the house. Stu has a Tribal tattoo on his face which is similar to Mike Tyson’s, and Alan has a shaved head. The guys also notice an old friend has crashed with them, which is none other than the wild and crazy Mr. Chow (Jeong). Most importantly however, a member of their group is nowhere to be found, and it is not Doug. It is like Deja Vu for the gang as they experience another wild adventure to try and find clues and get answers in order to find Teddy and make it back for the wedding.
This time around the boys cause a street riot, and end up with a monk who has taken a vow of silence for most of his life. There is also a strip club that they ended up in, which reveals features about the strippers that have the gang in hysterics.
Overall “The Hangover part 2” is a laugh out loud comedy from start to finish. It has been a long time since a sequel has been more enjoyable than the first. The writing was brilliant, and the characters were hysterical. Mr. Chow was hilarious throughout. This film was fun to watch. The only flaw “The Hangover Part 2” has is that it has the same exact story line from the first film and Alan’s character [Zach Galafanakis] was obnoxious throughout most of the film especially with his feud with Stu’s future brother in law Teddy. Alan’s character gets boring and repetitive quickly. The film is saved however by Mr. Chow, and the other supporting performances throughout the movie.
This film also has a great cameo involving Paul Giamatti who plays Kingsley a business associate of Mr. Chow. Giamatti’s role is reminiscent to the one in Private Parts. His dialogue is witty and will have you laugh out loud.
In the end, “The Hangover Part 2†is a solid sequel that is filled with laughs and definitely surpasses the first film. Whatever happens in Bangkok stays in Bangkok, even more than Vegas. You’ll have to see it to believe it.
