Brooklyn – Shakespeare’s beloved romantic comedy about two pairs of lovers, a group of clueless actors, and a gaggle of mystical creatures loose in an enchanted forest overnight will be presented as part of John Stillwaggon’s ACT-OUT master class program at Narrows Botanical Garden. “What better place to watch this brilliant story unfold than in designer James Johnson’s brilliant artwork of nature†says John Stillwaggon, founder of the acting program and member of the board of Genesis Repertory. “We are very happy to see John’s artists – including some very young ones – tackling Shakespeare. We are truly proud to be part of this exciting endeavor,†says Mary Elizabeth MiCari, artistic director of Genesis Repertory.
The cast – once again – is a compilation of emerging young artists – Tony Artiga, Richard Goldblatt, Aiden Lawrence, Analisa Pettus, Anise Rau, Arun Rau, Julia Menn, and Paula Danielle Roby; and distinguished members of the Genesis repertory – Carolyn Dellinger, Romo Hallahan, John Harrison, Sara Minisquero, Kristin O’Blessin, Mohammed Saad, Kirill Sheynerman, and Amanda Symzcak.
This production also features a guest appearance by Ginny Louloudes, executive director of the Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York (winner, 2010 special Tony Award).
