The Claddagh Fund–the charity established in 2009 by Dropkick Murphys founder Ken Casey–has teamed with the Boston Bruins Foundation to host an online raffle for the “Roadie For A Day†promotion. Raffle tickets are available for only $5 each at http://www.nhlalumniraffles.org/Raffles.aspx?id=181 until the raffle ends on Friday, September 2 at 5:00 PM Eastern Time. Proceeds will benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation and the Claddagh Fund.
The winner will receive round trip airfare to Boston’s Logan Airport for two people, plus two nights hotel accommodation and two tickets and all-access backstage passes for the SOLD OUT Dropkick Murphys show at Fenway Park on Friday, September 9, 2011.
The “roadie for the day†and their guest will spend the day backstage with the band, see what goes on behind the scenes, help set up for the show, be there for soundcheck, hang out in the dressing room, meet the bands and see Dropkick Murphys play live at Fenway Park from a VIP spot on the side of the stage.
The Claddagh Fund is the charitable foundation of Dropkick Murphys, founded in 2009 by Ken Casey. Honoring the attributes of the Claddagh Ring–friendship, love and loyalty–the mission of the Claddagh Fund is to raise money for the most underfunded charities that support the vulnerable populations in our communities. Funds support organizations that champion the needs of children, veterans and those struggling with alcohol and drug abuse.
The critically-acclaimed Dropkick Murphys–Al Barr (lead vocals), Tim Brennan (guitars, accordion, whistle, vocals), Ken Casey (lead vocals, bass guitar), Jeff DaRosa (banjo, bouzouki, mandolin, harmonica, vocals), Matt Kelly (drums, vocals), James Lynch (guitar, vocals), and Scruffy Wallace (bagpipes)–are known for their complex distillation of classic punk rock, Celtic folk and American rock ‘n’ roll. The band is touring in support of its Going Out In Style CD (Born & Bred Records), which debuted at #6 on the Billboard 200 chart.
