At first read, “Mass Effect: Invasion” displays a creative story, along with impressive art work. This is the first issue of this series, one which will not only keep you interested with each turn of the page, but you will also leave you in suspense. Bottom line, this comic does not disappoint; it gets better as you read along.
Written by Mac Walters and John Jackson Miller [“Star Wars Knight Errant”], the story is unique and clever, as multiple plot lines develop throughout. The artwork was done by Omar Francia [“Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2”], his style is exquisite and will be a eye opener for the reader; each character and scene is displayed with such precision it makes for an enjoying page turner.
“Mass Effect: Invasion” focuses on the main character, Aria T Loak, who is the self-appointed queen of Omega, a space station that caters to the galaxy’s underworld. Aria must defend her territory from a scary new threat that is unleashed by a pro-human oranization called Cereberus. Once Cereberus attacks the ship, there is tremendous action, along with ultimate chaos. There are many kills and gun fire that take place, and what makes the read more fascinating is that it will remind you of the movie “Alien.” The art work and characters have that sort of resemblance.
Overall, this comic is well written, and fun read. The art work is incredible and brings the story to life. If you enjoy the Alien films, this comic is definitely for you. This series gets off to a tremendous start and can only get better from here.
