Wadjet Eye Games’ Four-Game Blackwell Series Debuts on Steam

Haunting indie adventures have ghost-hunting storylines, achievements, and developer commentary

NEW YORK- January 13, 2012 – Indie developer Wadjet Eye Games is pleased to announce that all four installments of the long-running Blackwell adventure game series for PC are now on Steam. Blackwell Legacy, Blackwell Unbound, Blackwell Convergence, and Blackwell Deception can be purchased individually or in a $19.99 bundle. Through January 20, Steam is offering a launch week sale of 25% off, bringing the bundle price to $14.99.

The Blackwell adventure games star Rosa Blackwell, an antisocial writer and reluctant spirit medium, and Joey Mallone, a jazz-era ghost who is tethered to Rosa due to a mysterious family legacy. This unlikely team combs the streets of modern day New York City to investigate suspicious deaths and help confused spirits cross over. Each game has its own complete story and an overarching plot spans the series, meaning players can jump in with any Blackwell game for a self-contained experience, or play all four to gain a richer understanding of the Blackwell family legacy and how the stories intertwine.

Modern adventures with a retro feel, the Blackwell games feature mature interactive storytelling, professional voice acting, original soundtracks, and pixel art graphics reminiscent of the point-and-click classics from Sierra and LucasArts. The investigative gameplay requires playing as both the mortal Rosa and the ethereal Joey, using each character’s unique abilities to solve puzzles and advance the story. In addition, eachBlackwell game has achievements, optional developer commentary (including a brand new “Five Years Later” commentary track on the series’ first installment, Blackwell Legacy), and Steam cloud save support.
