“Intermission Time†is a wild animated short that has to be seen to be believed.
In just four minutes, Michael Degg‘s “Intermission Time!†manages to make you laugh a bit, but it’s a freaked-out mind trip more than anything else.
Ever wonder about those food items that dance during intermission in those old drive-in and grindhouse flicks? Well, even if you didn’t, the wait is over.
With its grungy lens and top shelf animation, “Intermission Time!†is beautiful to look at, in a vile, disgusting way. The sense of awkwardness- from the unsettling visuals to the creepy music- hits home immediately.
After the first few seconds, it obvious a ton of effort was put into the aesthetics of the film. With no dialogue, the look and feel and the music are pivotal. They don’t disappoint and naturally, neither does the film.
The film has its flaws though; while the story is more shocking than cohesive (You may say it doesn’t exactly make sense), it’s impossible to ignore.
If “Mad†magazine and “Tales From the Crypt†could somehow, some way, spawn a child in the form of a four-minute animated short, you get “Intermission Time!â€
A hot dog erotically dancing, shaking itself like Britney Spears after a six-pack of wine coolers, so a crazed snack man doesn’t eat it?
You have to see this.
