Hell’s Kitchen Coverage: Not Barbie Girls

The chefs have gone to the dogs (and sheep) and it’s musical chefs night in episode four of Hell’s Kitchen.

The chefs are woken up by dogs and are told to put on overalls. That can only mean one thing: a day at the farm. The day’s challenge is to take turns grabbing collars around a bunch of lambs’ necks that have an ingredient painted on it in order to use in four lamb dishes back in Hell’s Kitchen: lamb chops, rack of lamb, ground lamb and lamb steak.

Nothing like watching a bunch of city slickers falling over themselves trying to catch lambs. Surprisingly, Clemenza does the best job and just slowly walks to a lamb and just grabs the collar.

Back in Hell’s Kitchen the taste test goes very smoothly for both teams. The only major downside is that the rack of lamb that Robyn and Barbie made is raw. Robyn even knew it was raw, but had no choice due to time.

The Blue Team finally gets their first win. As a reward, they get a day at the races at Hollywood Park. Since they are the Blue Team, they bet on a blue horse-that comes in last.

Meanwhile, the Red Team had a nice lunch of bull’s testicles. Take a good guess what the reactions were. Kimmie on the other enjoyed herself and scarfed down five to the disgust of Danielle. Danielle does start with Kimmie later on and asks why she acted like that earlier. Kimmie said that she just wanted to start just to start. Not a good sign.

Dinner service was a drinking game where you took a shot every time Ramsey threw somebody out.

In the Red kitchen Danielle just won’t communicate at all. This lack of communication causes her and Robyn to get thrown out for putting too much garlic in a garnish and making a bad sauce and Roshni got thrown out for not making one good Wellington.

In the Blue kitchen Brian ran out of cod after undercooking and overcooking it. He got thrown out after calling Ramsey “baby.” Don followed Brian after making a NY strip medium-well instead of medium. Royce and Justin finish of the musical chefs after Ramsey spots them not communicating and both making bass.

Surprisingly, fewer chefs in each kitchen result in more food leaving the kitchen and better service. Right here we see who’ll be standing in a few weeks.

After dinner service Ramsey told both kitchens to choose two chefs for elimination. The Red chose Roshni and Danielle and the Blue chose Don and Brian. Don got sent home.

However, Ramsey had another surprise up his sleeve. What seemed like Roshni being eliminated turned into her going to the Blue Team.

After a great dinner service it’s a surprise to see how badly these chefs performed in this episode. Roshni going to the Blue Team may not help her all that much in the long run. She seems way too out of it.

It’s surprising that Barbie was not chosen for elimination seeing as how badly the Red Team hates her. It’s still early and there’s plenty of time Hell’s Bitches to pull out their horns and show off the drama everyone has come to expect from this series.
