THE DIRTY HEADS NEW ALBUM CABIN BY THE SEA OUT NOW

BAND WELCOMES SUMMER AT LUNCHTIME BENEFIT CONCERT FOR DOHENY STATE BEACH WITH KROQ, WAHOO’S AND MONSTER ENERGY DRINK

SoCal alt-rockers The Dirty Heads released their highly anticipated album Cabin By The Sea this week on Five Seven Music. The album, produced by Mario C. (Beastie Boys, Tone Loc) and Lewis Richards, melds the band’s signature sound of hip hop, reggae and alternative rock with everyone’s favorite season – summer! Cabin is currently sitting at #8 on iTunes’ overall music chart and #4 on their alternative category. The album’s lead single “Spread Too Thin,” is quickly shaping up to be one of the biggest tunes of the season. Debuted by KROQ LA earlier this spring, the track is currently #14 on the Alternative chart with a cumulative audience of over 38 million listeners. The album features collaborations with Del the Funky Homosapien, KyMani Marley and Rome, as well as Matisyahu with whom the band will launch a co-headline North American tour next month.

The Dirty Heads have a host of web activities confirmed for this week. Cabin is currently streaming in its entirety on AOL, iHeartRadio, MSN and MySpace. The band will be playing LIVE today, Wednesday, June 20th at 10 AM PST/1 PM EST on YouTube’s “What’s Trending” https://www.youtube.com/user/Whatstrending. VEVO is premiering the band’s own 5-part cooking show series titled “Get Baked with the Dirty Heads” featuring lead members Dirty J and Duddy B and in one episode, sharing the stage with celebrity Top Chef Just Desserts Danielle Keene http://vevo.ly/N8Y7rC.

To celebrate the release of Cabin By The Sea and warmly welcome the first day of summer, the band teamed up with long time supporter KROQ as well as Monster Energy Drink and Wahoo’s Fish Taco for a free lunchtime concert at Dana Point’s Doheny State Beach yesterday. The band played to a packed crowd with proceeds from the sale of food/beverages going to benefit Doheny. Wahoo’s Fish Taco has partnered with The Dirty Heads on a promotion for the month of July, and will be announcing details soon.

Formed in 2003 out of Huntington Beach, CA, The Dirty Heads combine an intriguing mix of hip-hop, reggae and alternative rock with a sunny California swagger. The band released their debut album, Any Port In A Storm in September of 2008, which features the hit track “Lay Me Down,” a song that spent eleven weeks at #1 on the Billboard alternative chart, more than any single that year by any other artist. It is an RIAA certified gold single. Rolling Stone touted the ‘Heads as one of the year’s best new bands and they were among the first bands featured on YouTube’s Raw Session. The band most recently performed at KROQ’s sold out 20th Annual Weenie Roast y Fiesta in Los Angeles, CA on Cinco de Mayo, which also featured Coldplay, Incubus, Group Love and others.
