Dropkick Murphys are set to join the lineup for Mumford & Sons’ first U.S. Gentlemen of the Road Stopover on Saturday, August 4 at the Eastern Promenade in Portland, Maine. Following Mumford & Sons’ headlining performance on the mainstage, Dropkick Murphys will close the outdoor festivities on the second stage. Later that night – in keeping with the spirit of the Gentlemen of the Road – Dropkick Murphys head to Portland’s State Theater for a headlining gig of their own.
“We hung out with our buddies Mumford & Sons a few weeks ago at a festival in Europe, and they called today to invite us to play their Gentlemen of the Road festival up in Portland, Maine on Saturday, August 4. It sounds like a great time, so we’re going to jump out of the studio to close the second stage,†says Dropkick Murphysbassist/singer Ken Casey.
“The festival is sold out, so we’re hoping some of you already have tickets…but if you don’t have tickets, don’t worry! As part of the Gentlemen of the Road Stopover, all the bands will be doing their own late night shows throughout Portland. We’re lucky enough to be doing our own show at the State Theater. The opening band will be our friends from Cape Cod, the Parkington Sisters.â€
