Hell’s Kitchen Coverage: Say Goodbye to Red and Blue

The day’s challenge was a staple in Hell’s Kitchen: Each team had 30 minutes to cook three dishes, risotto, lamb and cod. The catch was that only one chef was allowed in the kitchen at time. Every five minutes one chef had to take the chef’s place and the last chef had to tell what was done and what needed to be done.

Obviously, this is to test the chef’s communication skills. Things didn’t go so well.

For the Blue team, their risotto was crunchy, their cod was missing the dashi broth and the sauce for their lamb was “disgusting”. Zero points.

The Red team did better, right? Wrong. Their risotto was burned, their cod was raw and their lamb was sliced horribly. Zero points.

For the first time in Hell’s Kitchen, both teams had to do punishment. This just shows how bad this season’s contestant’s are.

Punishment consisted of cleaning the front of Hell’s Kitchen and washing the Hell’s Kitchen SUVs. They even saw the nice convertible they would’ve been riding to the beach if they won, but James reminded them that they’re a bunch of losers and have to get to cleaning. Everyone decided to start washing the inside of the SUVs, but Robyn wanted to wash the outside first.

At dinner that very night Ramsey gave them a reason to redeem themselves hidden under a dome: a black jacket. That got them motivated. Well, the Red Team anyway.

The Red Team didn’t do that bad. Christina almost mixed an old risotto with a new risotto. She did burn one later on. Dana later cooked three bass in three pans and Ramsey told her it’s easier to cook them in one big pan. He went over and transferred them to a bigger pan. That’s all that happened on the Red.

The good ol’ Blue Team is more reliable for messing up everything and anything. Clemenza made three risottos three different colors and was told to make them in one pan so they would all be one color. Robyn put her garnish in the oven to keep them warm because somebody told her to do it. This was due to Brian’s inability to cook a NY strip properly, which was so bad Ramsey called Barbie over to take over for him and Justin reheated a bass.

Sure enough, the entire Red Team got black jackets and the Blue Team had to choose two people for elimination. They chose Robyn, Clemenza and Brian because they could not come to an agreement. Ramsey, annoyed, told all four members to step forward. Ramsey eliminated Brian.

Looks the bromance between Justin and Brian is over and there are no more Blue and Red teams. That means Robyn has to once again team up with the girls she so hates. This could get very ugly very quickly. According to next week’s preview, it looks like it’s Robyn’s time to finally go home, flying according to Ramsey.
