Lady Gaga to Make Acting Debut in Robert Rodriguez Film ‘Machete Kills’

Pop star Lady Gaga is trying her hand at acting, starring as “La Chameleón” in the upcoming Robert Rodriguez film, Machete Kills.

“I just finished working with @LadyGaga on @MacheteKills, she kicked SO MUCH ASS! Holy Smokes. Blown away!” Rodriguez posted on Twitter on July 12, adding in a photo of Gaga as the character.

In the photo, Gaga is donning a wolf pelt shawl over what appears to be a yellow corset and black stockings, as well as a blonde Marilyn Monroe-like hairdo, while brandishing a smoking gun.

“Yes its true, I will be making my debut as an actress in the amazing MACHETE KILLS BY @RODRIGUEZ IM SO EXCITED!!! AH! Filming was insane,” Gaga said on Twitter yesterday, confirming the news.

Machete Kills is the sequel to the 2010 exploitation film Machete, which stemmed from a fake trailer shown during 2007’s Grindhouse by Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino, starring Danny Trejo as the title character. The sequel also stars Mel Gibson, Amber Heard, Jessica Alba, Sofia Vergara, Zoe Saldana, Charlie Sheen and others, and is set for release sometime in 2013.
