After 30 years, comedian Robin Williams may be returning to television with his own half-hour sitcom.
Williams hasn’t starred in a sitcom since his days on Mork and Mindy, in which starred as Mork, an alien who lived with—and eventually married—his human counterpart, Mindy (Pam Dawber). This sci-fi sitcom ended in 1982 after four seasons.
Now, Williams is working with David E. Kelley, creator of The Practice and Ally McBeal, on a new half-hour show, says The Hollywood Reporter. The sitcom, written by Kelley for 20th Century Television, will star the 61-year-old actor as an advertising executive who works with his daughter, reports the Daily News. Bill D’Elia will act as executive producer.
CBS has already voiced interest in the series, titled The Crazy Ones. This will be Kelley’s first sitcom since Doogie Howser, M.D., which starred a young Neil Patrick Harris.
