Between the surprise victories and lumberjack match, this week’s episode of RAW was certainly different. Check out our list to see who made it out with the most to smile about.
5: Justin Gabriel: His win over Antonio Cesaro wasn’t an epic, but it was a shocker. Cesaro needs competition. It looks like he just got it.
4: Big Show: He’s pissed. That usually means someone is going to get hurt. He’s got some momentum going into Hell in the Cell. Should make for brawl and half for the World Title.
3: Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow: Thought the tag team scene was dead? Well, it is, but these two are simply stellar together. All they need is a great double team move and Kane and Daniel Bryan are in for a long night on Sunday.
2: Sheamus: There are fans out there that can’t stand this guy. Maybe it’s the pale skin and red hair. Regardless, he continues to work hard in the ring. His match with CM Punk on Monday was proof of that. For 15 minutes, he did more than hold his own with the “Best in the World.†Like Ryback, he’s not a big seller, but he’s good enough at it to make every match he’s in interesting. That’s exactly what his encounter with Big Show will be this Sunday.
1: Ryback: Yep, he’s green. Yep, he can’t sell either. But he absolutely decimated the WWE Champion and looked pretty damn good doing it. He’s a wrecking machine. If they let him continue doing that and that’s what fans expect from him, he’ll be just fine.
Note: Dolph Ziggler’s inability to make this list to due to the fact that he should defeat people like Daniel Bryan. Although he had a great match with Bryan, probably the best on the show this week, this should have been the case. You can’t reward someone for doing what they’re supposed to do. He’s a former World Champion who’s muddled around for a year in spite of his skills as technician and charisma. It’s time he moved into the spotlight long enough to stay there.
