To Hell You Ride #1 Review: We Want More

There’s a reason people believe so strongly in curses: Sometimes they’re real and have some major consequences. “To Hell You Ride” by TV-Veteran Lance Henricksen and Joseph Maddrey is about one of those curses.

It will leave you wanting more.

The story is told in a Native American folk legend style that grips the reader from the first page to the last. The reader can feel the anger and the anguish the world is going through via the narrator’s tone of voice. The story probably would not work in any other way or have as much of an impact if it were told in traditional comic fashion.

Some may be put off by what may be called the “white men bad” attitude of the comic, but that would be missing the point. It’s not “white men bad,” it’s the world needs sacrifices and that sacrifice was not met.

The art works well with the dark atmosphere of the setting. The use of dark colors, ugly characters and all around creepiness of everything gives the comic that sense of everything is not going to go well.

“To Hell You Ride” is dark, brooding, well-written and has an interesting narrative that will leave readers wanting to know about what will happen to Seven George. Top that off with art that works in perfect harmony with the story and this one’s an instant classic.
