Impact Wrestling Power Rankings: Hammer Time

With all the drama involving Hulk Hogan and Bully Ray, the “rise” of Rob Terry and the continued destruction of the Aces and Eights, combined with awesome ring work, TNA’s Impact wrestling has it all right now.

Check out our list of who’s making the most of their time in the ring and on the microphone on Impact Wrestling.

And sorry guys, people that don’t wrestle during the week and propose to the daughter of their boss don’t make the list.

5: Rob Terry: Making out with Brooke Tessmacher helped him get here, but his first real singles win in over a year and a good response from the crowd has Terry on the right track. An angle with Robbie E as an enemy or a dysfunctional tag team story could both be a lot of fun. Considering how solid Robbie E is as a worker, Terry has more than enough room to grow here.

4: Kenny King: It wasn’t a convincing win over Zema Ion, but it was a win that advanced him in the X-Division tournament. Another match with Rob Van Dam is exactly what TNA fans want, but King will have to go through Christian York first to get there. Either way, King finds himself in a great spot to dazzle fans at Genesis. With an awesome arsenal of kicks and an intriguing F-5/Urinage finisher, King is one of the more dynamic X-Division competitors in quite some time.

3: Austin Aries/Robert Roode: “The Wet Dream” team is hilarious. They are not at the level of Kane and Daniel Bryan, but together, there’s something unique. An eventual angle with Christopher Daniels/Frank Kazarian could make for some hilarious promo. But for now, one of these two is going to take on Jeff Hardy for the World Title. Our money is on Aries.

2: Mike Knox: After he was unmasked last week, The Aces and Eights weren’t happy. He made “The Club” happy though after he brutally took out Kurt Angle with a hammer. His loss to Sting later was secondary. The Aces and Eights continue to build their strength and Knox figures to be a big part of their rise.

1: Jeff Hardy: The fans are completely in love with this guy. In spite of getting taken out with his own belt on Impact, he was always a second away from hitting a big move, a counter away from electrifying the fans. The triple threat match at Genesis this weekend will be fantastic and while Aries and Roode are some of the most competent workers in the company, the excitement of the match hands on Hardy’s shoulders.
