The fallout from Tazz’s TNA betrayal made for an interesting Impact this week, with an enjoyable combination of promo and ring work.
Check out our weekly power rankings to see what TNA stars made the most of their time on television.
5: Christopher Daniels: He’s such a good heel. And he can wrestle like one too. Against the TNA World Champion, Daniels cut every corner he could, while simultaneously going through his encyclopedia of moves. Despite the fact that he lost, he never looked out of place. If anyone deserves another match with the World Champion and an angle with him, it’s The Fallen Angel.
4: The X-Division: Rob Van Dam, Christian York, Zema Ion and Kenny King had a solid match on Impact, but it’s as a whole that they are something special. A venerable combination of youth and experience, the X-Division is probably as strong as it’s been since the days of Samoa Joe, AJ Style and Christopher Daniels. If TNA Creative managed to get some interesting storylines going, the division could be even more entertaining.
3: Bully Ray: This promo might have cemented the Aces and Eights’ spot in the company. Before, they took out some of the company’s top stars, but now, after they destroyed Brooke Hogan and Bully Ray’s wedding, they may have bitten off more than they can chew.
2: Austin Aries and Robert Roode: To see them banter before their match was hilarious. Are they up to the level of Daniel Bryan and Kane? Hell no, but they are easily the most entertaining duo in the company besides Joey Ryan and Matt Morgan. With the TNA Tag Team Division a complete and utter bore right now, Aries and Roode could do the company a heck of good as a tag team.
1: Jeff Hardy: Another win as World Champion, Hardy continues to convert more naysayers every week. The TNA marks love him. A clap of his hands gets them going. When he hits the Senton, they rejoice. They are his creatures of the night. But smarks know better. If he could just cut a promo, then he’d be unstoppable.
