Get your Pokéballs ready for the approaching generation of Pokémon. It seems like you are going to need a lot of them.
The eighth evolution of the adorable Pocket Monster Eevee was announced in the most recent issue of CoroCoro Comics as Ninfia. Boys will be disappointed with this one. It is soft pink and blue and wears ribbons and bows. Not the manliest evolution to date, but it does mean a new type of Eevee to own for all the aspiring Pokémon masters.
This makes six Pokémon released for Pokémon X and Y to date. Ninfia stands alongside the three starters and two legendaries of the much-anticipated game.
Though Ninfia is official, nothing else is known about it. Fans will be left to their imaginations regarding its type. The first thing that stands out about the image posted on CoroCoro’s latest issue is the long ribbons that seem to float in the wind. This could imply that Ninfia might be a flying top Pokémon. Or even more exciting, maybe the developers have decided to add an 18th type to the roster.
There are many other things fan get to sit and think about. Ninfia is not the given American name, as the many “Eevee-lutions†always end with their characteristic ‘-eon’ and somehow relate to their elemental attribute. On top of that, being the first release of the new series that is not a starter or legendary makes Ninfia a sort of poster child for the new game. This may even imply that the newest effeminate Eevee could be featured in the short of the next Pokémon movie “Eevee & Friends.â€
