The matches this week on Impact told a solid enough story to keep your attention, as the Tag Team and World Heavyweight title matches were plenty entertaining. Although the company still has plenty of work ahead of them creatively, with this type of action in the ring, fans can at least get some type of satisfaction while the storylines continue to falter.
Check out our weekly power rankings to see who left us wanting more this week on Impact.
5: Taryn Terrell: The match won’t win any match of the year awards, but like WWE’s Kaitlyn, Terrell has a lot of heart. It also doesn’t hurt her that she’s absolutely beautiful either. The fans also seem to respond to her, which can only be a good thing for her moving forward.
4: Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez: Just when you thought they were done as a team, Guerrero and Hernandez have a fantastic match against Austin Aries and Robert Roode. While they are far from the entertaining duo that Roode and Aries and even Christopher Daniels and Frank Kazarian are, they can have quality matches with just about anyone.
3: AJ Styles: The guy hasn’t wrestled in months, but just the announcement of a match between “The Phenomenal One†and James Storm next week is enough for Styles to make this list. Is TNA that weak that a guy who hasn’t performed in a half year can make our power rankings or is Styles just that good? Depends on whom you ask?
2: Jeff Hardy: Although he has yet to deliver a memorable promo during his chase of the World Heavyweight title, Hardy continues to prove himself in the ring. For a company that prides itself on its in-ring product, Hardy is their poster boy. Even after a devastating loss, Hardy was on top of his game in a classic Metal Mayhem encounter.
1: Bully Ray: Between his charisma, the continued “cool†segments with The Aces and Eights and another consistent match, Bully Ray proves the doubters wrong again this week. You may have never thought it possible a year ago, but Ray is easily one of the best heel champions TNA has ever had.
