WWE RAW Power Rankings: No Drama Needed

This week’s episode of RAW was weak, mainly due to the lackluster segments and storyline developments.

In the ring however, RAW showed flashes of brilliance, with several solid encounters that hopefully will continue for the next week weeks.

Check out our weekly Power Rankings to see who sparkled the most in the ring on RAW this week.

5: Randy Orton: Cody Rhodes is one of the best young workers in the company and Orton worked extremely well with him this week on RAW. The fans still love him. They still respond when he hits his “vintage” maneuvers. He’s just got nothing to do creatively in a storyline right now. Even in the win, it’s hard to tell what the next step is. Although a pair of RKOs and a “focused” promo afterward is proof that the WWE is desperately trying to keep him relevant, the bigger question is, will it work?

4: Dolph Ziggler: Even with all the shenanigans, Ziggler and his posse are a serious threat to anyone they get in the ring with. But away from the drama, Ziggler is money in the squared circle. His match with Kofi Kingston, like many of their matches together, was awesome. However, there doesn’t seem to be much in terms of storyline with the champ right now. In order for him to truly cement his spot as champion, Ziggler needs some real competition. Right now, he doesn’t have any.

3: Jack Swagger: This guys just keeps destroying everyone he gets in the ring with. Another quality outing, this week against Zack Ryder, ended with the Patriot Lock. Easily one of the most promising heels in the company, Swagger needs more ring time. Like Alberto Del Rio, Swagger has a ton of in-ring chemistry with World Champion, but needs a way into a storyline with Ziggler before he can truly captivate.

2: Alberto Del Rio: Not only did Del Rio win this week on RAW, but so did his valet, Ricardo Rodriguez. While Rodriguez squeaked by in a three-way match, Del Rio made former U.S. Champion Antonio Cesaro tap. With momentum on his side, Del Rio heads into Extreme Rules in the perfect place to recover the title he was screwed out of.

1: The Shield: Between the intriguing promo work and more “Freebirds” inspired ring work this week, The Shield are in a league of their own.
