Sure, RAW was boring from a storyline point of view this week, but there was plenty of action in the ring. Daniel Bryan alone proved that there’s still a place for technical wrestling on the show, as his work earned the largest cheers of the night.
Check out our weekly RAW Power Rankings and see who else deserved to be in Bryan’s elite company.
5: Jimmy and Jey Uso: Funny how some face paint and pyro has changed the Usos. Allowed to finally work a full match and not get jobbed out, they showed a solid combination of power and speed. While they lack the flash of Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns and the experience of Daniel Bryan and Kane, they are a promising young tag team worth keeping an eye on.
4: Curtis Axel: Paul Heyman’s new client had another respectable showing this week against John Cena. Athletic, yet gritty, he had counters to several of Cena’s signature moves. The fact that he continues to mix in his old offense, including a nice variation of the Neckbreaker, with his father’s Fisherman Suplex also makes him a ton of fun to watch. Add in more television time for Paul Heyman and you have a winning formula.
3: The Shield: Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns have never been defeated in six-man tag action and for good reason. With quick tags, great ring psychology and a ton of precision, The Shield is the best threesome in the WWE in years. Behind Ambrose’s ring ability and charisma, Rollins speed and Reigns strength, they are simply unbeatable and loaded with potential. With championship gold already around their waists, you have to wonder where their ceiling is as a group.
2: The Wyatt Family: After another cool vignette, it’s undeniable; this group is intriguing. Make no mistake- this isn’t Husky Harris and some big dudes you’ve never heard of. This is something real and boy, are they coming to stir some trouble.
1: Hell No: Everyone knows what a beast Daniel Bryan is in the ring, but he continues to prove every week that he is without a doubt the best worker in the company today. At the same time, Kane continues to silently work some fantastic matches. Simply put, this may be the best tag team in the world today. In the case of Bryan, he continues to make the case that he deserves a legitimate shot at the WWE title.
