Bloodshot #0 Preview: Kindt and Company Could Strike Gold Again

Valiant Comics has released early scans of “Bloodshot #0” and it seems like it might be an interesting read.

The story presented in the preview starts on decent enough and is written like the journal of someone who is involved with the creation of the perfect soldier Bloodshot. The writing, by comics veteran Matt Kindt, is interesting enough and holds the reader’s interest. The downside is that there are some cliché terms used here but they don’t ruin the flow one bit.

The art is, of course, the high part of Valiant’s comics and this does not disappoint. All the pages in the comic proper are drawn with the highest skill and look polished. Out of the three covers presented the best is the one that shows six soldiers in a circle. It basically tells you everything you need to know about the story without being too busy. The worst is the one with Bloodshot in the middle with tubes coming out of his head and there are various scenes surrounding him. It looks too jumbled together, way too busy and random.

“Bloodshot #0,” set for an August 21 release, looks like it could be a cool Punisher/type comic, especially if Valiant pulls it off properly. The preview makes that look like a distinct possibility.
