WWE RAW Coverage: Better than Tylenol PM

Big Show’s firing to start the show got the emotional element running strong, but the terrible matches created a huge void.

This show dragged like Rikishi after a 12-piece vacation at Kentucky Fried Chicken.

The show was partly saved with the promise Daniel Bryan/Randy Orton encounter at Hell in a Cell, this time with Shawn Michaels as special guest referee, which ensures that the best matchup in the company will continue. The shocker that World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio will take on John Cena at Hell in a Cell also livened up the lazy show.

Matches:

Dolph Ziggler vs. Damien Sandow: This match was all Sandow, who beat on Ziggler on the inside and outside of the ring early on. Ziggler made his typical face comeback after Sandow missed an attack in the corner. After the Neckbreaker, Ziggler hit a beautiful Dropkick, but couldn’t get the pin. But after a failed rollup, Ziggler got the win with the Fameasser.

Alicia Fox, Aksana and Rosa Mendez vs. Natalya, Eva Marie and Jo-Jo: A mess. Not even worth watching. Natalya beat Fox with the Sharpshooter. Jo-Jo didn’t even get into the match.

Drew MacIntyre and Jinder Mahal w/Heath Slater vs. Los Matadores: Another joke of a match. Los Matadores defeated MacIntyre with the Double Shellshock variation. After the match, the Matadores “bull” delivered the Hurricanrana on Slater.

CM Punk and R-Truth vs. Ryback and Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel w/Paul Heyman: This match was a bore. All four competitors got their share of offense in, but none of it was spectacular, just incredibly routine. After Punk hit the GTS on Axel, Truth finished him of with the Axe Kick for the win.

Randy Orton vs. Kofi Kingston: Not surprisingly, Kingston held his own for most of the match, but Orton eventually came back strong and after some signature offense and fun on the outside, “The Apex Predator” finished off Kingston (who did hit Orton with the SOS earlier in the match) with the RKO. After the match, Daniel Bryan hit the ring and beat on Orton for a bit.

World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio vs. Ricardo Rodriguez: After Smackdown GM Vikki Guerrero announced Del Rio will defend his title against John Cena at Hell in a Cell, Rodriguez snuck in and won with a rollup. After the match, Del Rio destroyed his former valet.

Zack Ryder vs. Fandango w/Summer Rae: A quickie that ended after Fandango nailed a gorgeous Leg Drop from the top rope.

Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro w/Zeb Colter vs. Santino Marella and The Great Khali w/Hornswoggle: Cesaro beat Khali with the Giant swing. After the match, Marella and Khali stopped the heels from swinging Hornswoggle.

Goldust, Cody Rhodes and Daniel Bryan vs. United States Champion Dean Ambrose and WWE Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns:A high energy match with a plethora of back and forth action. After a series of tags, Goldust and Rhodes left Rollins and Bryan in the ring alone and after he kicked Rollins in the head, Bryan latched on the Yes Lock, but Ambrose got back in the ring with a chair to earn the DQ.

Upset after last night’s no contest, Triple H restarted the match however and made it a no-DQ.

With the match restarted, Orton jumped out of the crowd before he hit Bryan with the RKO and threw him back in the ring for Rollins to cover for the victory. After the match, The Shield decimated their opponents until The Big Show joined the party and made his way to the ring. After The Shield attacked him, Show eventually fought through the barrage and nailed Triple H with the WMD.
