He’ll say something like, ‘Why don’t you repeat that line on the chorus?’ And I’ll go, why didn’t I think of that?â€
His eponymous debut album, Jake Bugg, released April 9th in the U.S. on Island Records, was awarded an ultra-rare 4-star album review from Rolling Stone, who declared it “a small revelation†with “vivid storyÂtelling. . . For a teenager’s debut, Jake Bugg shows an artist who is crazy fully formed, stepping into a journey that should be worth following.â€
The album release was followed up with April appearances on Letterman, Ellen, and Leno; and Jake was named MTV’s “Artist To Watch†for May. Millions more have been hearing Jake’s music on the television spot for Gatorade, featuring “Lightning Bolt,†the opening song on the Jake Bugg album.
