TNA’s transition continues as the pushes of Magnus, Ethan Carter III and Joseph Park continue to get a nice chunk of attention, while former WCW and WWF/E stars get less time on TV. It’s a smart move by TNA, but with a lack of compelling storyline, you can expect TNA to go back to its former-star crutches in a few weeks if nothing gets hot.
Check out out TNA Impact Wrestling Power Rankings to see who is making the most of some of the darkest times in the company’s history.
Honorable Mention: Robert Roode and Kurt Angle: The only feud with any real in-ring fire, these two will wrestle a two-out-of-three fall match on Impact this week.
5: Joseph Park: After 18 months of nonsense, Park finally knows the truth. At least now the guy can wrestle the matches that fans expect from him. Although Park was entertaining at times, TNA desperately needs Abyss back. Now that the angle is, for the most part, over, lets hope TNA doesn’t waste anymore time with the Park character and goes straight to Abyss. However, the way the match ended, you have to think that Park has some more soul-searching to do first.
4: Ethan Carter III: Finally, after weeks of him destroying jobbers and relics from TNA’s past, it appears Carter may have a fight with Sting. This could get good.
3: Gail Kim: The Knockouts Division just heated up with the return of former Champion Madison Rayne. It looks like the best female worker in TNA finally has some real competition.
2: Austin Aries: His win over Chris Sabin for the X-Division title is a great step in the right direction, as Aries will defend the title with more frequency than the former champion. As well, it puts Aries just a step away from the World Title. A possible Aries/Styles or Aries/Hardy confrontation for the TNA World Title would be a good business move. The most well-rounded work in the company Aries, needs more TV time.
1: AJ Styles: Still the TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Styles needs to get back in the ring as soon as possible, before this company dies on the operating table.
