How Magnus Could Make 2014 His Year

Don’t let the slanted way Magnus won the “real” TNA World Heavyweight Title fool you- the young superstar is no flash in the pan. With a slew of former megastars done with their glory days in the company, from Sting to Jeff Hardy, TNA is in desperate need of new blood.

Well, here’s looking at Magnus, kid.

Here’s our list of things the Brit can do to cement himself as one of the best champions the ailing company has ever had.

5: Beat as Many Former Champs as He Can: Simply put, with more youth than polish, Magnus needs to carve a resume for himself. With Kurt Angle looking to go out with a bang, a nice angle with the former Olympic gold medalist could be the perfect thing to get more the good-looking up and comer some much-needed credibility.

4: Destroy Other Young TNA Stars: Guys like Ethan Carter III and Gunner have been separating themselves lately and its in Magnus’ best interest to make sure these guys know he’s the man. Even if he has to cheat, he needs to stop their momentum and hold on to that title.

3: Develop a Real Finisher: The Cloverleaf is fine, but Magnus needs something devastating. Stop with the Elbow Drop and some of the other low-impact maneuvers and develop a moveset that takes more advantage of his athleticism and charisma.

2: No Factions: TNA has a propensity of putting young stars in short-lived factions to boost their swagger and appearance. This little angle with Dixie Carter- needs to end. Magnus needs to be his own man and have his own identity. Otherwise, AJ Styles will be right. Magnus will be a farce.

1: Get More Mic Time and Develop a Real Persona: He’s got a cool accent and the boss likes him, but we don’t know much else about him. In order for Magnus to truly get over, fans need to know more about him, his struggle to the top of the TNA and what he’s willing to do to stay there. Vignettes and montages won’t get this done. He needs to throw his heart out there and hope something sticks.
