MVP is the new investor and TNA is certainly a bit different than they were just a few weeks ago.
MVP’s appearance, combined with Velvet Sky’s departure from Chris Sabin’s camp, as well as the arrival of Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards and Sam Shaw’s continued development, TNA is much more a place for the younger and hungry than a home for former WWE stars and undersized or green indie performers.
For the first time in a long time, TNA has a tiny bit of positive momentum.
Matches:
Velvet Sky and TNA Knockouts Champion Madison Rayne vs. Gail Kim and Lei’D Tapa: A quick match that saw Rayne nail Tapa with a Spear to eliminate her from the action. With Tapa deployed, Sky caught Kim with her sit-out Pedigree to earn the win.
Gunner and James Storm vs. Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian: Before the match, Storm pledged his support to Gunner and proved it. After Storm eliminated Daniels with a Super Kick, Gunner hit the Diving Top Rope Headbutt on Kazarian for the win.
Eric Young and Abyss vs. TNA Tag Team Champions Jessie Godderz and Robbie E w/Zema Ion: Abyss and Young and the champs right where they wanted until Abyss flipped out and destroyed the referee and his own partner. After the match, Young challenged Abyss to a Monster’s Ball match next week.
Ethan Carter III and TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus vs. Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle: A pretty standard match where all four competitors traded offense for a good 10 minutes. Joe was the most explosive of the bunch, but Angle hit several German and Belly-to-Belly Suplexes. After Angle beat on Carter on the outside, Magnus was left all alone with Joe, who quickly made the champ tap out to the Kokina Clutch.
After the match, the Lone Wolves revealed MVP as TNA’s new “investor.â€
