TNA Power Rankings: The Real Genesis Begins with MVP

MVP, The Lone Wolves, Gunner and Magnus are the faces of TNA right now?

Yes ma’am.

TNA continues to experiment with its formula and regardless of what you’re feeling in your gut about the future of the company, you can’t but help be interested.

Check out our weekly TNA Power Rankings to see who is managing to carve out a top spot in the “new look” TNA.

Honorable Mention: Sam Shaw: This dude is super creepy, but at least TNA has done a better than normal job of building suspense around his character. With an equally as awkward move set as well, Shaw has plenty of potential.

5: Gunner: Although the top rope Headbutt isn’t the best finisher for him, Gunner continues to prove he’s one of the company’s best up and coming stars. Already a past Tag Team and TV Champion, Gunner has his eyes on Magnus’ title. He may be a few months away from getting his chance, but you can bet this, he’ll be racking up wins along the way.

4: The Lone Wolves: The enforcers for MVP, these guys have made it crystal clear that they have their hearts set on destroying the TNA Tag Team Champions. The contrast in styles alone will make it a good match, but Edwards and Richards’ no nonsense personas will build toward one of the best tag team feuds TNA has had in a while.

3: Abyss and Eric Young: Dr. Frankenstein vs. his own creation? Well, kind of. Young brought this all upon himself, but it’s been a fun ride. It’ll all be over one way or another after their Monster’s Ball match.

2: Magnus/Samoa Joe: Say what you want, but Magnus is still champion and will fight Joe tooth and nail to hold on to it. It’ll be interesting to see where his reign goes once he faces a hand-picked MVP opponent or even MVP himself. As far as Joe goes, it’s been a long time since he’s gotten a legitimate title shot and he deserves it. With the fan’s support, this angle could end up becoming much bigger than a one-match encounter.

1: MVP: His appearance in the last segment of the show was a cool one. Fans know who he is and after a hugely successful stint in Japan, MVP is ready to become the star in the United States he never got a chance to become in the WWE or Ring of Honor.
