A week before their big “Vengeance†card, NXT has another solid card that continued to develop and showcase some of their cool, young stars. From Bayley to Aiden English, NXT is chock full of up and coming personalities that deserve time to perform. Although there was a real lack of storyline development aside from a brief skirmish between Corey Graves and Sami Zayn, this was a solid show that made good use of the WWE Superstars that appeared on it.
Matches:
Mojo Rawley vs. Bull Dempsey: Rawley had a supporter in the crowd in New England Patriots Tight End Rob Gronkowski, who wore a Rawley shirt and cheered every time Rawley hit a move. Unfortunately for Rawley, Dempsey came out swinging with overhand punches, keeping the energetic NXT star on the ground through the early goings. Rawley changed the tide with a Belly-to-Back Suplex and a few Splashes in the corner before he hit the Jumping Rear End Bump and finished him off with a Running Banzai Drop in the middle of the ring.
Sami Zayn vs. Tyler Breeze: Corey Graves interfered before the match could get started and took out Zayn. No contest.
Adam Rose vs. Camacho: Rose is a rockstar and his entrance is a lot of fun. Once that match starts, the experience is equally as silly. “Flying†around the ring, Camacho was more confused than impressed at first. Camcho did have a moment or two with plenty of strikes and a nice Belly-to-Back Suplex. After Camacho taunted Rose’s eccentric style, Rose fired back with a modified Bronco Buster, a Spinebuster and his Choo Choo Clothesline for the win.
Bayley w/Natalie Neidhart vs. Sasha Banks w/Charlotte Flair: A definite contrast in styles, Banks was pissed, but Bayley was all about having a good time and getting back at her bully. After Bayley was in control early on, Banks fought back in typical heel fashion, using strikes, beals and submission maneuvers to gain an advantage. After Banks rolled up Bayley, the an favorite reversed the move into a counter of her own for the win.
Aiden English vs. Sheamus: After the two performers yammered on even sang, they got to business. Ironically, English was the aggressor early on. Sheamus then went on a tear and hit a plethora of signature offense, but English was opportunistic, attacking Sheamus on the outside. Soon enough, English nearly got the win with a nifty Top Rope Neckbreaker and continued the assault with a Chin Lock. After another submission maneuver, Sheamus eventually squeezed out and hit a Tilt-a-Whirl Powerslam and followed it up with Brogue Kick for the win.
